A Raconteur’s Story

As I said on my previous blog post, our Summative Tests are currently rolling. I always-always forget to think about a new blog post for these past few weeks and I'm almost failing my schedule. But of course, I wouldn't let that happen. I love what I'm doing and I love my readers so I don't want to let you down with a hiatus.

I gotta warn you, though. This is another list of things. I don't know why, but lists are my favorite kind of posts. Its simple and very informative. I thought that you guys might be too done with these type of things (probably yes) but still;

+ + +

1. Collect what you already know

File them up and skim through them!

2. List the things that you don't know

Its important to know what you don't know. It's basically a signal for development! Research on the things that you need to research and take down notes.

3. Ask questions

There are some things that you might not be able to understand in the internet and/or the teacher has different method on solving the problem (in math). Don't be afraid to approach teachers/other students whenever you don't understand things. They won't bite.

Approaching a teacher was one of my worst fears when I was still a kid. I literally think that they would shout at me for not listening in class(—but I do, listen. It's just I don't really understand the topic; that's all.) But it's actually the other way around! Teachers like questions. So get up from your sit, talk to the teacher and ace your test! :)

4. Ready your materials

You'll need a pen and all sorts of things in order to study. Highlighter, check!; Pen, check!; A pencil and eraser, check!; Calculator, check!— These things are simple. But they are fairly important. You can also get bright colored materials so that you won't get bored with studying! D-I-Y things ahead of time before studying :)

5. Create a reviewer

This will be your ultimate life-saver. I write important things (from my lecture notes, seat works, projects) down on a separate notebook and study that whenever I need to. Mobility at its finest. I usually go everywhere whenever I'm studying so, a notebook that has everything down will make things a lot more easier. If you're too lazy to write everything down, then just type things on MS Word, print it out and highlight important details. But if you have another way of studying, so then be it. You should pick your preferences for you to study effectively if I do say so myself. But if you need a new option, well then; there you go!

6. Re-read seat works, workbooks, quizzes and essays

The teacher will probably make up questions similar to the past ones, so study all the outputs that were given to you before.

7. Study in advance

Ugh. We all hate studying. But we need to study. This step is important. You wouldn't want to be the person who crams at 2 am because their tests are in a couple of hours.

Study hard in advanced, and study / skim when the date of the yet is finally nearing.

8. Stay inspired

You might have a crush and you want him to make him notice you; By being on top, he'll surely see you. (Effects may vary...lol!) But kidding aside, yes. Staying inspired / happy will make your study journey a bit more easier than you not having goals as a student.

For your crush to notice you isn't the only goal for you to study. You can think about your future, in order to ell your parents, so that teachers will be happy, so that you will be happy.

9. Stay Organized

A clean working space is the way to go. It makes you remember the things that you need to be doing rather than procrastinating all-day.

10. Be in a study-ready environment

If you prefer a cafe, or a quiet bedroom, its your choice to make. This will greatly affect your movement while studying, so choose wisely. :)

Hi Guys!

I'd like to present you a little series coming up this Summer in my very own blog. I got this bright idea in school yesterday and thought of the preparations needed and I think I should've thought of this last January but since this is in such short notice, I promise to post it as 'early' as I can.

Some schools are off with the term and some are not but hey, this could be a really good reference for your vacation every summer, yeah?

This first article will be about the long-term things that you need to decide on.

THE DESTINATION

Summer can be a little bit cray-cray. Hotels and resorts are full all the time! (Especially when they get amazing exposure from television shows)

Soooo I recommend weeks before your date of relaxation. You need to plan for this. You need an agenda. You need a intinerary!

Find amazing spots local & international (If going somewhere international, you can get a pretty good deal and not much of a hassle because we celebrate the summer season differently from theirs, so there wouldn't be a ton of people getting on your way when booking for a place to stay)

IF YOU'RE GOING LOCAL...
You gotta get your game up, girl! (or boy)

If you want to stay in the metro... try

{Manila}

Places to Visit:

1. Manila Ocean Park

Perfect for families-especially targeted for kids and people who are interested with sea critters. You will get to see amazing laser light shows, mermaids, penguins, sharks, stingrays and a whole lot more! Has different amenities that everyone can enjoy.

2. City Of Dreams Manila

Summarized as a whole package. A place where you can stay, dine & play all at the same time. If you're curious about De Niro, Scorsese & DiCaprio's commercial popping up on your television screens, why not see for yourselves? :)

3. Intramuros

Go back in time and explore Manila's ruins that withstood war. If you're fascinated by architectural designs and reading through facts, this is the perfect stop for you. (PS: ride a kalesa while touring the city!)

Places not too far from the metro...

1. Sky Ranch

Rides?! Of course we want them! :D The thrill on a boat-like structure near the edge of a cliff would be awesome! They also offer other rides that anyone would enjoy.

2. Laiya Beaches

Whenever we need to get away from the chaos of the city, we always end-up in Laiya, Batangas. It's a nest full of beach resorts to choose from!

I'm pretty sure that there's a lot of places to visit in the Philippines! I wish I could make a whole list of places that you guys will surely want to go to, but I need to make the #2 in this article...

CASH
You need to get a little bit off from your savings for you to go to a different place. I think the most amazing thing that you can actually do is to travel. For me, travel is luxury. And when we usually go out, we spend wayyyy more than we should. So it's always good to be ready and to save up for something as a reward for yourself because you, deserve a good break :)

Ask your parents or any person that you know that could help you raise money for your Summer Escapade. Try selling food out, bracelets, try to resell something, do a garage sale.. There are multiple ways to save up money! It wouldn't be easy but, everyone needs a good 'ol goal right? :)

THE BODY & THE MINDSET
A lot of people are working hard for their bods to be in shape (maybe including me..?) but I don't care if people around me doesn't have the perfect body. I want to see people confident with their own body and I love people who loves their own body. Who cares if you don't have a perfect body? Rock it, girl! (or boy again hihi) Buy a swimming wear that you feel good in and go ahead and hit the beach! :)

But before you take a dip in the pool or go anywhere else, wait for the rest of my series and you will get to see my routines and my summer essentials :)
Follow me on +Bloglovin so that you will be updated when I post the next few articles for the #SummerReady series :)
See you on my next post!

First off, I want to deeply apologize for the lack of posts. We had our Summative Test these past few weeks and I clearly need to study. I was actually supposed to post something before this, but it just ended up being there long with the other drafts I have created.

So, how are you guys? It's been awhile and a lot of crazy things happened in my life. (And I'm pretty sure that you experienced some-- too.)

On these "unexpected turn of events" type of roller coaster I'm currently in, needed a soundtrack of its own. After several albums, I quickly fell in love with this.

At first, I was contemplating on buying this album for myself. I wasn't really assure of the new stream that Taylor has been in since the Red Era. From country, to pop. What a big step. But I knew, I knew for myself that being a swiftie just goes with the flow and I treat all of Taylor's decisions with respect so I decided to get the album on iTunes.

I tried to familiarized it with my ears but It just didn't get it. I found out more about the deluxe edition on the physical copy and stuff. That's when I got pretty excited and I finally read between the lines and knew that this album was so much more than it really was.

Then, I fell in love with it. Slowly.... Then all at once.

There were so many speculations about the physical album here in our country. Which took me to the point that there was no chance of me getting the physical album with the 13 polaroids in one. There was a delay of stocks, the printing process isn't very good, there are no photos on the newest batch and so on and so forth.

I've had enough and decided to buy an imported copy from Japan. And after a week of waiting, It arrived in the mail.

I was very excited and I quickly grabbed the cutter to open the package and there it goes. Taylor's face covered with the numbers "1989". T.S. below and D.L.X. right beside it.

I sync-ed it into my laptop and listened to it. And to be honest, there wasn't a day were I didn't play the whole album in shuffle and on repeat. I quickly memorized all of the songs and tied my best not to over-kill my gadgets because of hitting the play button on and on.

I have to admit that the price is too pricey. P850 here on the Philippines (which is actually too much) but as I said, I wasn't really sure of buying it on here because there were problems with the stocks etc. Japan has it for about Y2000-3000 I think? Which is way too much when you converted it to Philippine Peso. But since I don't care too much about that and I only care about the music, let it be.
