Peachy Keen

Hello everyone! I decided to do something different for my blog this time around. I made a pretty makeup look for you to get a head-start this summer time. :) (I hope that you guys will enjoy this post. I worked hard on this and I also tried to make the photos a little bit more better than before.)

The look was inspired by a lipstick (named Silky Peach) that came from Avon's Tropical Paradise Collection. I got this for only Php 259.00 from an Avon Representative. I mainly bought it because Angel Locsin is their model for the whole collection. hahaha!

I want to do a glowy, luminous and light look because we want to look sun-kissed under this beautiful weather... and to achieve that, I used some products to help me out.

Don't forget to prep your skin with sunscreen before you do anything else. Using sunscreen on your face will reduce blotchiness, skin discoloration, wrinkles and a lot more. Thank me later ;)

I used a pinky-peach with a little bit of glimmer for the blush. It gives out the color that my skin needs to attain a healthy glow without over-doing it. (If you want to know more about the blush that I used, you can check out the review I made for it here.) I didn't do anything for my brows. You can probably groom it, but it's up to you. Instead of giving the floor to my brows, I decided to use a lengthening (and non-clumping) mascara for my lashes.

I skipped the matte face, and embraced my natural oils peering through a light base. In order to achieve luminosity, make sure to use a light B.B. Cream/C.C. Cream that even includes minerals too. Use this as a way of making your skin relaxed every once in a while. Don't cover up! Embrace your fez hahaha! :)

This will not be glow-worthy if we don't use some type of a highlighter to highlight the high points of our face. The Mary-Lou Manizer makes your highlight reach Curiosity. IT'S THAT GREAT. (I'm planning on doing a review for this one soon enough) This makes your skin healthy and it enhances/gives light to the high points of your face. Lastly, make sure to bring a peachy-colored lipstick around with you at all times.

FEBRUARY 2016 HAUL

I actually planned on restraining myself from buying tons of books this month—since I am busy with projects and tests; but my brain couldn't care less, I ended up buying a lot of them. I wanted to share them with you since It has been a while since I made a 'haul' type of post.

1 | MAGIC PHOTO CUBE - HMR
- I was totally sold when I first saw this up on shelves. It's a freaking magnetized cube that would rotate your photos in 360 degrees! But I noticed that buying this wasn't really practical haha :( But of course, I'll find a way to add this up somewhere in the house, I think my dad won't mind it.

2 | BLACK LOAFERS - HMR
- I flipped when I see this on a surplus store. At first I was a little devastated seeing that one of the pair was the only on on the shelf... but I decided to knock around some shoes 'till I found the other one and the pair was my size! It looks brand new, it feels great, and I, myself; have been trying to find loafers for my checkered dress. Finally.

3 | TROPICAL PARADISE LIPSTICK IN SILKY PEACH - AVON
- I decided to try peach for a change. This one gives a sheer color, (truthfully, I'm not a big fan of the color pay-off) but It was a nice bargain! The packaging is really sturdy, and it looks oh so wonderful. This will probably be my go-to summer lip color.

- We were buying gifts for loved ones when I came across this shirt. Haven't had anything like it, so I decided to buy one. I think that this will be perfect for summer time, too!

5 | DRACULA BY BRAM STOKER - BOOKAY UKAY

- My friends and I went to Maginhawa for the first time. It was nice seeing a street full of things to do. All you need is your trusty feet to explore most of the area. We went into Bookay Ukay, a place where you can buy, sell or trade books. I picked out this really nice looking cover of Dracula, to make my mind at ease whenever I'm struggling to find classics.

6 | LOOK WHO'S BACK BY TIMUR VERMES - FULLYBOOKED

- I saw LeeReader from Youtube review this one and I was instantly sold. I decided to pick this book up because I want something funny, and I also want to read a newer take on history. This is about Hitler coming back in 2011, managing to be a star known for his impressions as himself.

7 | THRONE OF GLASS BY SARAH J. MAAS - NBS

- Since I've read Assasin's Blade before, I know a couple of bits and pieces about the Throne of Glass series. Haven't started it yet because I'm still waiting for my friend. Throne of Glass follows a girl named Celaena in her adventures (and misadventures) in Endovier.

- I was complete obsessed with this shortened version! (Even though it's shortened, I still madly enjoyed it even if some of my favorite parts were cut off) I'm planning on buying the Signet Classic / the Penguin Classic edition and read it once again.

9 | CLARIEL BY GARTH NIX

- I got nothing about this book. All I know is I came across this once before in a bookstore, hoping on buying it because it was a signed first edition. (Turns out it ended up back at me hahaha!) I learned more about the book when booksandquills did a review on this one and stated that this can be read even if I haven't read the rest of the series yet. It's a prequel so I decided to buy it for myself.

10 | J.R.R. TOLKIEN THE HOBBIT AND LOTR POCKET SIZED BOXED SET - FULLYBOOKED

- I searched far and wide for this boxed set because it was utterly mesmerizing. I remember wanting to read classics that time and I saw this for a really good price. Ordered it, and waited for almost 2 weeks... but now I finally got it, and read The Hobbit.

11 | THE WRATH AND THE DAWN BY RENÉE AHDIEH - FULLYBOOKED

- This has been the Bane of my existence for so long. I've been seeing this a lot before but when I finally have the money to buy one, I can't find it anywhere else. I was so thankful that my friend got one for me (S/O to you, Sheen!) because I've been frantically losing my head out for this. This is a re-telling of A Thousand and One Nights—something that I'm fascinated about since before.

12 | VISITATION STREET - IVY POCHODA - NBS

- Saw this on a bargain shelf. This is only 99 pesos. I repeat, 99 pesos for a hardbound book. I read the summary and I think this will be not that bad of a read.

REVIEW | Milani Luminoso Baked Blush

I am finally back with a product review! It has surely been a while since I made these type of posts. Anyway, today, I'm reviewing Milani's Luminoso; a product that has been compared to NARS Orgasm and a well-loved product in the beauty community.

I want to give Milani a 5/5 for just the packaging of their products. It makes it feel as if you have payed more than the price of the blush. The packaging is made out of plastic but it's completely sturdy and incredibly pretty. (I actually feel like a princess whenever I use this blush lol)

I thought that the product was larger than it was in real life. But I think that the amount of product and the size of the packaging is enough for the price that we're dealing with here. ($8.49)

Each of their baked blushes come with a compact mirror and a blush underneath the product. Though, I wouldn't advise using the brush that comes with the product because it's kind of stiff and the effects of the way you apply the product may vary. Even though I wouldn't recommend the brush that it comes with, I would still say that this is a great product for traveling and going to different places. It's a one stop product. You've got a mirror and a brush and you're good to go!

Let's talk about the product, shall we? :)

I see terracotta. Terracotta everywhere. The perfect way of mixing a pinch of pink to peach. The blush is super silky and I am not even kidding you at all. It blends really well and it shines like its supposed to. You are not welcomed by a boom from a firework; instead, It leaves a healthy, subtle glow that anyone could rock.

In my case, I need to build up the product to what I wanted it to appear on me. It was kind of light and the peachy-ness of this product didn't really show up in my Filipina skin. I kind of mix it with a deeper shade of blush to get the pay-off that I want.

I also use this product as a highlighter at times. I really like how the light bounces off of it because it's not too strong-looking.

I am also not-so-happy with the staying power of the blush. It can be wiped away by the oils (especially here in the tropical climate) so you'll have to reapply this at least 2-3 times a day if you're out and about.

Overall, I think that this was a very nice product. I think that I might prefer the other colors in Milani's line instead of this one. I also, personally don't think that this is a dupe for NARS Orgasm blush. I haven't actually tried the blush but judging from the photos, Luminoso is way more peachier than the Orgasm (which screams pink) to me.

I want to relive what I learned before) and I also took care of the lighting in this post. As you can see, there's a trend going on in this post. It looks dreamy and princess-y because I placed the lighting somewhere else and I shot at night time. I also am the one who edits these and I'm so happy for what it had turn out to be.

REVIEW | Milani Luminoso Baked Blush
